Brisket:
Tried and True Texas Brisket
What youll need:
- 1 whole brisket
- 2/3-1 cup soy sauce (depending on your taste)
- Garlic salt to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can beef broth
What youll need to do:
Fire up your grill and allow the temperature to stabilize around 250 degrees. Wet the brisket with soy sauce and put some garlic salt and ground pepper on it (about 1 teaspoon each).
When the grill is ready, put the meat on it with the fatty side up so it will moisten while cooking. Close the lid and cook for 4 hours. Dont open the lid.
After 4 hours, you can mop the brisket with beef broth to keep it from drying out. When the internal temperature reaches 175-180 degrees, pull it out and wrap it in heavy-duty aluminum foil, pouring the rest of the beef broth onto the brisket. Put it back on the grill and continue cooking until the internal temperature is 190 degrees (about 1 hour). Remove from foil. Let it rest for a little while, but dont let the temperature drop below 145 degrees.
Thats it! Time to eat.
